The Place-To-Be

Creative set-up on a grand scale, highly motivated shred crew, truly impressive backdrop: The European freestyle scene celebrates the AREA 47 Snow Park Sölden. The 744 meter long and 6 hectare big park is located at Giggijoch on the downhill slope of two chairlifts -  Hainbachkar and Silberbrünnl. A place of longing for all freestyle aficionados: well-balanced variety of beginners, intermediate and pro elements plus countless kickers, rails, boxes, wall rides and other exciting features.

The word sounds like fun and keeps what it promises: the "Fun Slope" is a well-dosed mixture of snow park, boarder cross and ski slope and boasts myriad playful elements which make a wonderful change from the groomed downhill slopes. In Sölden families and curious winter sports enthusiasts love to conquer the 680 m long Fun Slope with waves, steep turns and tunnels at Giggijoch. Huge fun factor!

Shredding fun for snowboarders and freestylers

One of the hallmarks of the AREA 47 Snow Park, created by QPark designer Konstantin Iordanidis, is to continually build and constantly improve new challenges. The construction of an oversized media obstacle at the end of the season has brought together the best skiers, snowboarders, film makers and photographers from all over the world in Sölden.

The overall concept, however, is based on the effort to make the sunny park - located at 2450 m altitude - attractive for everyone: beginners can slowly discover the fascination of freestyle, experienced riders find enough creativity to realize their full potential. The international shaping crew, who knocks the snow park into shape every day, is in a great mood and looks forward to offer riders a perfect playground made of snow. After so much power on the board, freestylers are warmly invited to enjoy the magnificent views of the Alpine scenery at Giggijoch. A hearty snack and fine drinks are available in the restaurant which can be found right at the end of the park.

Opening hours: daily 10.00 am - 4.00 pm

The use is free of charge and at your own risk, the FIS Rules and Park Rules apply.

Exciting slope for all the family

The Giggijoch 8-seater chairlift takes you directly to the Fun Slope access point. All obstacles on the track are based on challenges in the Snow Park but don't require highly athletic skill. Everyone, including children and beginners, who are looking for an upgrade to the conventional ski slope have found the right place here - at their own pace, adapted to individual skiing or riding skills.

On almost 700 meters skiers or snowboarders can try small jumps, troughs and steep turns that lead directly into a snail with 360-degree turn. Speedy challenges through tunnels, over a bridge, across a ravine and past high-fives and low-fives. But as always, having fun is much more important than the overall riding time. And that's exactly what the daily shaped Fun Slope promises right from the start - with a couple of comfy first meters to warm up - to the fabulous finishing straight.

Recharge your batteries and "repeat"!

So much action makes really hungry and the inviting ski huts right at Giggijoch are perfect for a stopover. With a view of the other riders on the course and the countless three thousand meter high peaks, you will find the perfect line for your next Fun Slope adventure. One thing is for sure: once doesn't count -  the Fun Slope Sölden is quite addictive.
