A tremendous Music Program featuring Top DJs like NERVO or AFROJACK, a truly unique location at Giggijoch and fans in a great party mood: at the Electric Mountain Festival (EMF) 2017 both musicians and spectators went into ecstasies.
The setting was nearly perfect. After dense fog in the last year, the weather gods had mercy upon the EMF 2017: bright sunshine, perfect slope conditions and spring-like temperatures! Also the sixth festival edition saw emerging this very special Sölden Spirit between music artists and fans. There is almost no other place where the audience gets in closer contact with the stars of the scene. In total 21,000 fans of Electronic Dance Music celebrated in Giggijoch's Fun Zone at 2300 m on two days. They were rewarded with a fabulous line-up and some of the most popular names of the scene like NERVO, AFROJACK, Bassjackers, Quintino etc.
DJs on Skis
What we found out on occasion of the EMF 2017: many of the Australian, Dutch or Swedish DJs are passionate winter sport fans. Therefore Netherland's Quintino or Sweden's Michael Feiner hit the slopes of Sölden several times. Quinten van den Berg alias Quintino was totally enthusiastic about the place: "I love skiing and I really enjoy the fantastic weather conditions in Sölden." He has already been to the Heartbeat of the Alps before, and he is quite interested in the development of the Electric Mountain Festival. The Swedish co-star spontaneously adapted a famous advertising slogan to describe his enthusiasm: "The Alps give me wings."
Australian DJanes love Austria
Already for the second time in a row, the twin sisters Miriam and Olivia NERVO from Down Under came to the Ötztal Valley. The two EMF headliners in their stylish ski outfit discovered - once again - Sölden's superb slopes by day and its vibrating nightlife. Additionally, they paid tribute to the excellent Austrian cuisine: "Two schnitzels a day is the Austrian way." The song-writing twin sisters, who also worked with David Guetta and Kylie Minogue, enjoyed a splendid ski holiday with their friends. What's best, they also visited the music show of AFROJACK as unrivaled party girls on the second Festival day.
The event organizers, Bergbahnen Sölden and Ötztal Tourismus, are proud of the Electronic Music Festival's great success in its semi-anniversary edition (exactly five years after David Guetta celebrated the premiere event). Just the right time to take a quick glance at the upcoming program highlights in the next festival season. Sölden and EMF fans can look forward to a top-notch program held at Giggjoch's Fun Zone in the 2017/2018 season.
All visitors on the spot enjoyed a prime Music Event for free as a valid Sölden skipass gave unlimited access to the two-day concert marathon at Giggijoch. Once again, the organizing committee of Bergbahnen Sölden and Ötztal Tourismus offered a highly attractive music and entertainment program at the Winter Finals. All those who missed this superb event can take a look at the Facebook, Instagram and social media platforms where pictures and videos are posted. The most authentic crowd-pullers were the DJ stars themselves: millions of followers and fans admired the high Alpine location in the Tirolean mountains thanks to photos and videos. A sense of humor and many jokes were the order of the day. The Bassjackers even changed their name into "Slopejackers".
