The original mountain village owes this reputation to its historical connection to alpinism. And therefore belongs to the illustrious circle of Austrian mountaineering villages. Time seems to stand still here, but you shouldn't. Challenging summit tours, seemingly endless long-distance hiking trails, hut tours lasting several days, leisurely family hikes and educational theme trails await you. The summer cable cars facilitate the ascent and descent to the mountain world and to the alpine pastures and huts, while the mountain guides of Venter will guide you safely across the fles, ice and snow.

Vent’s Widum, described by Johann Stüdl as “the coziest base for high-altitude tourists,” was at the heart of this development.Franz Senn—pastor and innkeeper, fearless mountaineer, and progressive advocate of the Alps—became the driving force behind this movement.Today, the new Widum in Vent serves as an information center for Ötztal Tourism and hosts an exhibition by the Ötztal Nature Park. On the first floor of the listed Widum, the 50 m² exhibition is dedicated to the diverse nature and cultural topics around Vent. An impressive photo gallery shows the traditional shaft drive between Vent and South Tyrol. The rich settlement history around Vent is excitingly told. Opening Hours: Today: 08:00 - 20:00The mountain farms of Rotte Rofen, often called Rofenhöfe, are located at an altitude of 2,014 m and about one kilometre to the west and 114 metres higher than Vent in the Ötztal Alps. Like Vent itself, the farms form part of the municipality of Sölden in the Ötztal.The Rofenhöfe are the highest, year-round farmsteads in Austria (2014 m). The Gasthof Rofenhof is open (highseason, restday in summer on monday, restday in winter on sunday).
