Is it the clean and crisp mountain air that makes so hungry or the hand-rolled dumplings, the fluffy Kaiserschmarrn, the varied homemade specialties? However, a stop in Sölden's traditionally serviced mountain huts and Alpine pasture inns is an absolute must and you will soon find out why. Some are conveniently located close to the valley floor, others can be reached after a short mountain gondola ride or by hut taxi, still others only by a long walk on foot. In all places you can expect freshly prepared mountain food, jovial hut atmosphere and uninterrupted mountain vistas.

Fiegl´s Hütte on Windachalm 1985m:
Visit our Fiegl`s Hütte in the romantic Windachtal,
better known as "LITTLE CANADA" among mountain and hunting aficionados.
Approx. 1h45min. walking time from Sölden. It's also possible to take the bus line from Sölden to us. The bus stops approx. 500m in front of our hut. For bike aficionados there are plenty of singletrail routes in all difficulties leading from and to the hut.
Tasty dishes, refreshing drinks and a cozy spot with a great view right to the Stubai and Ötztal Alps...Fiegl`s Hütte...amidst "Sölden's quiet part". It's the starting point for scenic mountain hikes e.g. to the "Zuckerhütl", the highest mountain in the Stubai Alps, as well as various hut hikes: Hochstubaihütte 4-5h, Siegerlandhütte 3h, Hildesheimerhütte 3h and Brunnenkogelhaus 3h, Kleble Alm 2h
However, if these tours are too demanding, you can also hike leisurely in the Windachtal - without high gradients - on a comfortable hiking path. Or you just enjoy this border valley between the Ötztaler and Stubai Alps in Fiegl's hut, with cake and coffee.

The picturesque village of Zwieselstein, located at the end of the Ötztal, serves as a starting point for many hiking tours. For a spontaneous, short and easy tour, a hike to the Sahnestüberl is suitable. An ideal meeting place to taste Tyrolean specialties and delicacies.

To the hut: from Vent in a south-western direction past Rofenhöfen and to the goods lift. Continue along the trail across Platteibach and walk to Platteiegg (roadside Calvary), or through Vernagttal to the bridge and on to the hut. time: 3 h, altitude gain: 850 m, length: 8 km
