This treasure trail takes you through the small village of Zwieselstein.  Above the main road, you walk past the chapel, cross the main road and walk through the meadow towards the soccer pitch. You return to the village along the river and turn off after the bridge to a resting place that you won't normally see if you just drive through Zwieselstein.

Zwieselstein lies in a small basin at the back of Ötztal. Here, where the valley forks into the Venter and Gurgler valleys, the crystal-clear waters of the Venter and Gurgler Ache rivers merge to form the majestic Ötztaler Ache. You hike through the small village and enjoy the impressive backdrop of imposing mountains, lush alpine meadows and clear mountain streams. Along the trail, you pass a small, traditional church.

Step by step, the trail leads you across flowering meadows and through the forest, enjoying the sound of the streams and the chirping of the birds, while the scent of fresh fir trees invigorates your senses.

How does the treasure hunt work? There are small caches (treasure boxes) along the marked route. One or more letters are hidden in each cache. Memorize these letters or write them down. Together these letters form a solution word.

Once you have found all the caches on this tour and know the solution word, you can pick up a small gift (for children) at the information desk in Sölden, Vent or Gurgl.

Depending on snow conditions, the tour is also possible in winter. Magnetic caches, normal tins, Petlinge and much more are hidden here. Please make sure that everything is well hidden again.

Turn-by-turn directions

You start at the bus stop (in the direction of Obergurgl) in Zwieselstein or at the Hochstattweg parking lot.

From the bus stop, walk along the main road - just before the bridge, turn left onto a narrower road "Hochstattweg" and walk until you reach a wooden bridge. Continue along the path to the wooden bridge and hike along the path to the chapel, where your first cache is already waiting for you. Searched and found, continue along the asphalt path until you reach the main road again. Now cross the road carefully and continue straight ahead through the meadows towards the forest/fields - don't forget to stop at cache 2 and make a note of the letters. Once you have almost reached the forest, cache three awaits you.  Then take the path to the right into the forest towards Zwieselstein or the soccer pitch. A wide forest path takes you past the soccer pitch and you can follow the Venter Ache back to Zwieselstein. Don't forget to look for cache 4.

After you have walked past the "Brückenwirt" inn, you will shortly reach the main road - walk along the sidewalk and shortly after the bridge, a small path will lead you right next to the stream into a small wood. There are benches and a table to rest here. But look out for cache number 5, which has also made itself at home here. Behind the Zwieselstein valley hostel, you now walk back towards the main road, cross it and walk straight ahead along a smaller road towards the children's playground. Cache 6 is also hidden there. Then turn right into a side road and walk up the hill a little. You will then come to a dirt road where you will find the last cache. Finish the dirt road and head back to the bus stop.
