Snowshoe hiking

Hiking on a grand scale

Explorers and adventurers strap snowshoes under their feet and only hear the fresh snow crunching while lively Sölden slowly disappears behind them. Trudging silently through untouched snowy landscapes on your own or with a guide. Heading towards new insights and rustic Alpine huts.

Snowshoe hiking with added value

If you want to try out gentle winter sports in Yeti's footsteps, simply contact the local ski schools. The snowshoe experts accompany guests very flexibly to their favorite destination: For many, a refreshing stop is an absolute must, some want to meet skiing friends in a mountain hut and others let the mountain lifts help them on their ascent – then they return on snowshoes through the forest back to the valley floor. The certified guides entertain you with interesting facts and stories about the Alpine nature in winter, which makes the snowshoe hike even an excursion. The equipment required (snowshoes of all sizes, hiking poles and headlamps for evening tours) can be rented from the ski schools & sports shops.

Family-friendly adventure

In general, snowshoeing has no age limit: Anyone who is fit and motivated will be fascinated by a snowshoe hike. Children and young people also like to get “lost”, for example on the exciting tour from Zwieselstein into the valley along the ice-covered Venter Ache brook. Animal tracks in the snow, the sounds of a winter forest, adventurous slides on steep stretches: Sharpening your senses instead of digital overstimulation can suddenly become hip.

When: daily upon request, booking required
Duration: depending on the destination, the snow and weather conditions
Popular destinations: Stallwiesalm, Gaislachalm, Brunnenbergalm, Granstein, Gampealm, (all huts serviced) and Hochsölden and Giggijoch.

Some hikes are only possible with a guide.
