After a brief weather improvement on Wednesday, a frontal system will slowly move over the Alps with a lively southwesterly flow on Thursday. With this, southerly foehn effects and disturbance influences will contest for dominance in the weather, continuing into Friday. This will lead to uncertainties in the forecast, but significant surprises are not expected. Both on Thursday and Friday, the sky will be cloudy. Clouds will hang low, accompanied by some precipitation. The snowline on Thursday will rise to around 2000 meters during the day, but on Friday, it will drop again to around 1000 meters. By Saturday morning, the snowline will drop significantly below 1000 meters. On Saturday, much colder air will flow in, which will also dry off. However, the weather development for Saturday is still uncertain. Stable and sunny winter weather is probably forecast for Sunday. At the beginning of next week, the cold will weaken slightly, but it seems to remain persistently early winter cold in the long term.
